Lorne Smith Obituary

Heaven has a new angel.  It is with heavy hearts the family of Lorne Wellington Smith announce his passing on Monday, May 1st, 2023, at 3:47 PM with his wife Jean by his side.

Lorne lived in many places growing up. He was an Army Brat as he called himself.

During his life he had many careers: Sunday School Teacher, Miner, Printing House Craftsman, Hotelier, Accountant.  After marrying Jean, they had many adventures across western Canada, living in several cities over their 42 years together.  Always happy and quietly efficient, his greatest joy was his family.  Following that was travel with his truck and trailer or later motorhome, and helping others in any way he could.  His hobbies were varied from leatherwork to needlework and of course computers.

Lorne is survived by his wife Jean, sons Scott and wife Margie, Chris and wife Jodie, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as his mother Marjorie, sister Twila Wright, and brothers Patrick (Sheila) and Vernon (Heather), also many nieces, nephews and their families.  He was predeceased by his father George and brothers Monty and Raymond.

There will be no funeral by his request, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and his ashes will be spread at the location of his choosing.

Fly high with the angels my darling!
