Heinz Dieter (Hank) Held, born in Dortmund, Germany November 7 ,1939, passed away at home on April 27, 2020 at the age of 80 years with his loving wife by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley (Usselman); his daughters, Beverly (Robert) Bennett of Langley, BC and Sharon (Darryl) Davis of Harrison Mills, BC; grandchildren, Shayne (Chantelle), Ryan, Michelle, Kaylee, Justin and Tammie; 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by Son Daniel.
At the early age to 12, Hank and his family moved to Canada settling in Sault Ste Marie, ON.
He enlisted in the Canadian army in October, 1957 and was honorably released in October, 1960.
After moving to BC in 1962, he began a career as a longshoreman and retired from them as a First Aid attendant at BC Docks.
Retiring after 35 years of service in 1997 he moved to Keremeos, BC and later to Oliver, BC to enjoy sunshine and golfing.
Due to Covid-19, there will be a limited private service. We will have a Celebration of Life when it is alright to do so.
