Donald Eugene Thorsteinson passed away surrounded by the ones he loved at the age of 89. Sadly, predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Gwen Thorsteinson (Nee Tilton), great-grandson AJ Pelly, and great-granddaughter Abigail Smith. Remembered and sadly missed by 7 kids; Deborah Leduc, Pamela Lampi, Douglas Thorsteinson (Shelley), Edward Thorsteinson, Nanci Eyre, Georgina Hoffman (Russell), and Sherri McCullough (Darryl),15 grandkids, 19 great-grandkids, 2 great-great-grandkids, as well as extended family.

Donald was born in Rossland, BC, to parents Kristjan and Pauline Thorsteinson. He worked various jobs including Military reserves, truck driver, nurse, and many small business ventures. Painting, writing, and reading were some of his many interests. Donald loved to express his political views in letters to the editor and on Facebook. In 2019, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of visiting Iceland, the home of his ancestors. He met and kept in touch with his relatives there.

There will be no service by Donald’s request, a Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
