Obituary
Chester passed away peacefully with his family to comfort him on Monday, August 21, 2023, at the age of 82 years.
He will be remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Sharon Rauhala (nee Holmes); children, Troy Rauhala (Charlene Panigoniak) of Rankin Inlet, Nunuvat, Lisa (Steve) Brown of Vernon, BC, and Jody Rauhala (Jason Sears) of Pitt Meadows, BC; grandchildren, Kyle Brown of Vernon, BC, Melissa Brown of Vernon, BC, Kiana Benoit (Marvin Augenstein) of Calgary, Alberta, and Patrick Panigoniak, of Rankin Inlet, Nunavat; and siblings, Irene (Aki) Oishi of Pitt Meadows, BC, Esther McGinnis of Sechelt, BC, and Dale (Ernest) Naka of Kelowna, BC.
Chester had a great sense of humour and made friends easily. He loved visiting with his friends, especially the ones in our strata. He loved his family and always enjoyed special occasions when family would get together. He loved to make different wood working projects like pens, bowls, lamps etc. He was very innovative and was always making unique things. We did a lot of travelling and he loved the 10 years travelling in our motor home seeing the country and making new friends. He will be missed by his family and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life next spring in Merritt, and all his friends and relatives will be invited.
