Obituary
It is with saddened hearts that the family announces the passing of Betty Janet “Jan” Dick at home in Kelowna, BC on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the age of 71, surrounded by her loving family. Loving mother of Jennifer (Luc) Thake of Fraser Lake, BC, Rebekka Dick of Kelowna, BC, grandmother of Devyn Benner and Everly Thake. Dear sister of Pat Taylor of Sarnia, ON, Marty (Joan) Taylor of Sarnia, ON, Dean (Tina) Taylor of Sarnia, ON, and Dawn (Kevin) Taylor of Sarnia, ON. Special friend and former husband, Al Dick of Peachland, BC. Remembered by her many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by parents Edward (Ted) Taylor and Betty Taylor (nee Merrick).
Cremation has taken place.
Jan played competitive fastball on teams in Michigan State, Ontario, and BC for 25 years until she traded in her ball glove for a set of golf clubs where she also excelled, winning many tournaments in the Kelowna area. She also enjoyed the occasional night at the casino. The family wishes to sincerely thank the Interior Health Palliative care staff for their wonderful care which allowed her to remain at home with her family.
